Brought in my father's old Seiko 6139 chronograph. Both sub-dials had stopped resetting cleanly for years. Ahmad walked me through what the problem likely was before even opening the case. Seven weeks later I collected it with a full timing report and a set of photographs. The reset is crisp now. The service document was a detail I did not expect.

Took in a stainless bracelet that had become very loose — several pins were either missing or bent. They sized it at the same time. Turnaround was about four days which suited me. The removed links came back in a small bag with a note about which position they had come from. Helpful if I ever want to go back to the original length. One less star only because I had to call to confirm it was ready — I expected a text.

I had a French carriage clock from the 1890s that had not run properly in over a decade. The strike sequence was out by one position. Nurul did the restoration and called me at each stage to confirm scope. Total work was around eleven weeks. The clock has been running daily for two months since collection — keeping time within about thirty seconds a week, which I am told is typical for a movement this age. I was given a written record of every part that was touched.

I had a new leather strap that I could not get onto my watch — the lug width was slightly narrow and the spring bars kept slipping. Cogwright fitted it properly in about an hour while I waited. Small job, but they did not make me feel like it was beneath their attention. The strap has been on for three months without issue.

Sent in a column-wheel chronograph that I had bought secondhand. The pusher action was stiff and one sub-dial was off zero at rest. Eight weeks later it came back with the pusher light and the reset clean. The timing report showed it running at +5 seconds a day in crown-up position, which is acceptable for the calibre. The wait was about what I expected for this kind of work.

My grandfather's pocket watch had not been wound in years and the mainspring was broken. I was not sure it could be repaired at a reasonable cost. The intake assessment was honest — Zainal explained what was needed and what it would cost before any work started. The suspension spring was also replaced as it was cracked. Collected it in about ten weeks. It runs well. I valued the fact that they told me upfront rather than revealing costs at collection.

Owner presented a 1974 Valjoux 7734 column-wheel chronograph. The 30-minute counter was reading approximately 3 minutes fast by collection. The flyback reset was sluggish and left the hands off zero by half a minute mark. The watch had been serviced at least twice previously, with evidence of non-standard lubricant at the column wheel.
Full strip-down. Previous lubricant contamination at the column wheel was cleaned out with appropriate solvents. The column wheel teeth were checked for wear; two positions showed minor rounding that was within acceptable tolerance. The hammer geometry was adjusted. All lubrication points were re-done to spec. Pusher gaskets replaced. Movement rated on timegrapher across six positions post-service.
Sub-dial reading corrected. Reset now clean to within one mark. Timing result: average rate of +3 seconds per day across six positions. Owner confirmed at collection that both pushers felt lighter and more precise than they had in years. Photographic record and timing report returned with the watch.

A late 19th-century English fusee bracket clock was brought in with a broken suspension spring, a strike sequence that consistently over-struck by one blow, and a badly tarnished brass dial. The case had a loose glass panel and one door hinge had separated from the wood.
Suspension spring replaced. Strike train inspected; the count wheel had a worn detent notch causing the sequence error. Detent was re-positioned and tested across a full 12-hour strike cycle. Brass dial cleaned with appropriate non-abrasive solution. Case wood received minor repair at the hinge point. Glass panel re-secured. Two-week in-house test run completed before collection was arranged.
Strike sequence correct throughout test period. Clock running within 90 seconds per week — typical for a fusee movement of this age. Dial presentation improved. Owner noted at collection that the clock had not struck correctly in approximately 15 years. Written component record included four replaced parts and one adjusted component.

Owner brought in a stainless oyster-style bracelet with two missing link pins and one bent pin, three stretched hollow links and a clasp that failed to hold shut under light tension. The bracelet was also significantly too large following previous unsupervised sizing.
Missing pins replaced with correct diameter pins for the bracelet pattern. Bent pin removed and replaced. Stretched links assessed — three replaced from workshop stock of matching type. Clasp ratchet mechanism re-tensioned. Bracelet sized to owner's wrist measurement by removing two links. Removed links noted and bagged. Full bracelet passed through ultrasonic bath before reassembly.
Bracelet returned to correct size and secured at the clasp. Owner confirmed comfortable fit at collection. Removed links returned with the watch with a note recording count and positions. Total turnaround three working days. Parts cost itemised separately from bench time.
